Merry Winter Solstice

Not knowing whether to wish readers of Our Game a Happy Hanukkah, a Merry Christmas, or a Joyous Kwanzaa, I halve the difference with the title of this post. Herewith, an array of baseball greetings of the season, for all baseball fans. Because a picture is worth a thousand words, I will be both copious and brief. For some of the Babe Ruth Christmas cards below, my thanks to Bruce Menard, whom I encourage you to visit on Twitter: @BSmile.

Thanks for the very special holiday greetings. Have a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year. I’ll be in Florida waiting for spring training to begin.

Thank you for all your Our Game blogs through the year. Merry Christmas to all who read them. (By the way, I love the stitching on the Jewish baseball.)

Thank you! Same to you. The Same, John! when it was communicated to him that we spoke, author and The Sporting News writer Sean Devaney smiled and exclaimed, “the Great John Thorn!” Easily this is the best holiday card of the season—at the very least highly, highly prominent among ’em. Best Regards! bob

And a wonderful holiday to you. Eight Blogs for Hannukah, 12 blogs for Christmas, and seven blogs for Kwanza. You should be pretty busy.

John Thorn thank you so much for recognizing Winter Solstice as a holiday.
